Cruising With Liz

What Liz can do

Liz is a highly capable coastal cruiser which can also duck under canal bridges. She can cruise the Mediterranean as well as climb the canals to Basel or Berlin.

Her heavy weight, twin engines with Morse controls and bow thruster make her easy to control while docking on windy days. She can actually drive sideways.

She is the rare Dutch boat that is fitted for reversing in to a Mediterranean mooring.

Her powerful twin 105 HP Volvo Penta engines assure good headway in strong winds and currents.

Her round chine hull greatly reduces roll in rough weather.

Equipped with 10 mm chain, powerful electric windlass and a large Rocna anchor she can anchor in 30 metres depth.

A high output 100 amp alternator with digital controller brings her batteries up fast. With all LED lighting and a solar panel she can sit at anchor indefinitely without engine start. 440 amp hour house batteries and 140 amp starting battery assure ample power.

A 1200 watt Victron inverter gives 230 volt power ashore or afloat to outlets protected by modern circuit breakers.

Water capacity of 750 litres lasts up to 10 days with two people aboard.

Fuel of tank 1000 litres gives a range over 800 nautical miles.

She burns a stingy 6 litres per hour at 6 knots. That is about 1.5 kilometres per litre.
